High Expectations for Manny Pacquaio

Last night, after the decision was announced a lot of boxing fans quickly reacted and was booing Manny Pacquiao. Everybody knows that when it is a close fight the challenger has to convincingly win or even knock-out the champ in order to get the decision. Not to take anything away from Juan Manuel Marquez, who I think is the only boxer that could go toe to toe with Pacquaio. Both fighter's face looked the same to me, neither looked any worst than the other. Even sports commentators were reacting thinking that Marquez should have won. Marquez wasn't knocked out and he finished the fight, does that mean he convincingly won every round? So the whole time it was a Juan Manuel Marquez fight? I have to admit that it wasn't a convincing win for Pacquiao. It wasn't a convincing non win for Marquez either, if that even make any sense.

We have come to expect to see Pacquiao dominate everyone he fights. Manny has set the bar high and in this recent Marquez fight he didn't meet that expectation, but he didn't lose the fight as well. Even great fighters have off nights. It happens to all great sport figures. Specifically for boxing, a challenger has to convincingly win every round against the champ or even knock the champ out in order to win a decision.

I have to admit that it wasn't a convincing win for Pacquiao.
