Booking a plane ticket to the Philippines can sometimes be an expensive and stressful task.
You don't see ticket prices fall below the $800 level anymore. Here's what I do whenever I shop for
plane tickets to Philippines. I check first with the travel aggregating sites like mobissimo.com,
momondo.com and mangotours.com. After I've gotten a general idea of how much the prices go for.
I do step number two which is I start calling travel agents that specialize on Philippine booking.
If you don't know any travel agencies, don't worry just go to your nearest Filipino supermarket
and get the free Filipino newspapers and start copying the numbers and start calling them up.
If you don't have local Filipino travel agencies, try asking your family and friends from other states.
I once booked with a travel agency 400 miles away from where I lived. They used to be from my area
and they moved further south. They just emailed me the confirmation number and that was all I needed
to show the ticketing agent at the airport. Make sure to use credit card just in case something
goes wrong, so you will be able to get your money back. Anyways, after doing all your research,
you now have an idea on who's cheaper the local travel agent or the big travel sites. If you are still undecided, you can ask your local travel agent with the lowest price to do a pre-booking to reserve
the price for 2 days, after which you have to decide on whether to book or cancel.
Booking early is also a good idea, but from experience it doesn't really guarantee a low price.
